About Grid Drop
Fit blocks on an 8x8 board and chain line clears into combos.
Grid Drop is a block puzzle on an 8x8 board. Three pieces wait in the tray below; drag one onto the board and let go to place it. Pieces never rotate. When a row or a column is completely full it clears, and rows and columns clear together. Once all three pieces are placed, three new ones arrive, and the run ends when none of the pieces left in the tray fits anywhere.
Every block placed scores a point, and each clear scores 10 points per line times the number of lines, so a double is worth 40. Clearing on back-to-back moves builds a combo that multiplies those points, and emptying the whole board pays a 300-point Perfect bonus. New shapes join as you level up, from long bars to the 3x3 square. Pieces that no longer fit turn grey, so keep an open 3x3 area for the big ones.
How to play Grid Drop
- 1Drag a piece from the tray onto the board with a finger or the mouse; a ghost shows where it will land.
- 2Keyboard: press 1, 2 or 3 (or Tab) to pick a piece, the arrow keys to move it, Space or Enter to place it and Esc to put it back.
- 3Fill a row or column to clear it: 10 points per line times the lines cleared, multiplied by your combo when you clear on back-to-back moves.
- 4Each block placed scores 1 point, and emptying the board adds a 300-point Perfect bonus.
- 5The run ends when none of the pieces left in the tray fits on the board.
