About Tap Tiles
Tap the dark tiles in order and every tap plays the next note.
Four lanes of gloss-black tiles scroll toward a glowing line. Tap them in order, lowest first, and each tap plays the next note of the melody, so a clean run performs the whole song. Hold long tiles until their end as a fill bar rises through them, for up to two extra points. Tapping an empty lane, or letting a tile slip past the line, ends the run and flashes the missed tile red.
Six original melodies, each with its own key and colour, play one after another, from the bright Morning Steps to the waltzing Midnight Carousel. Every finished melody adds ten points per speed level and steps the tempo up; after the sixth, the songbook loops faster with new patterns. On the first pass the tiles trace the tune: rising notes step right, falling notes step left. Tip: play with two thumbs, and while one holds a long tile, ready the other, since the next tile arrives as the hold ends.
How to play Tap Tiles
- 1Touch or mouse: tap the lane of the lowest dark tile, and keep pressing on a long tile until it fills.
- 2Keyboard: D, F, J and K (or the left, down, up and right arrows) play the four lanes; hold the key on long tiles.
- 3Score 1 per tile, up to 2 more for holding a long tile to its end, and 10 points times the speed level for each finished melody.
- 4The run ends when you tap an empty lane or let a tile slip past the line.
